Arnaud Travert is a professor at the University of Caen in Normandy.
His research focuses on the surface properties of metal oxides and zeolites. He uses IR spectroscopy of adsorbed probe molecules, IR operando spectroscopy, chemometrics and machine learning.
He develops multivariate methods for analyzing IR spectra in situ or operando.
These methods make it possible to quantitatively evaluate the key thermokinetic parameters of catalytic processes. These include internal diffusion rates, thermodynamic adsorption parameters and surface reaction rate constants.
Arnaud Travert applies these techniques to processes such as cracking, bio-alcohol conversion, CO2 capture and hydrogenation.
