Svetlana Mintova receives the Arkema/Academy of Sciences Prize for Innovation in the Chemistry of Sustainable Materials

Svetlana Mintova, Research Director at the CNRS within the Laboratoire Catalyse et Spectrochimie (LCS), is the winner of the 2026 Arkema/Academy of Sciences Prize for Innovation in the Chemistry of Sustainable Materials. This distinction recognizes her contributions to the design of nanoporous materials for sustainable applications.

Head of the “Zeolites” team at the LCS and Director of the Center for Zeolites and Nanoporous Materials (CLEARᴿᴺ), Svetlana Mintova develops research dedicated to porous materials, and more specifically to nanozeolites. Her work enables better control of their structure and properties in order to design materials adapted to targeted uses.

This research opens perspectives in several fields: catalysis, CO₂ separation, energy conversion, and biomedicine. By linking the fundamental understanding of materials to their applications, it has also led to industrial partnerships, patents, and technology transfers. The Academy of Sciences highlights these contributions in its announcement of the distinction.

Established in 2021 and endowed with €25,000, the prize rewards scientific advances in the design, characterization, understanding, or use of materials providing an environmental benefit regarding their life cycle and uses. It thus emphasizes the role of chemistry in developing solutions for a decarbonized economy. Learn more about the prize.

This recognition honors Svetlana Mintova’s scientific career and contributes to the influence and visibility of the research conducted at the LCS on zeolites and nanoporous materials.

The Laboratoire Catalyse et Spectrochimie extends its warmest congratulations to Svetlana Mintova for this distinction.
