[Position filled] 18-month fixed-term NMR engineer position

16 December 2018

We propose, for the beginning of the year 2019, a position for an engineer for a project concerning the NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) of Hyperpolarized Xenon-129  financed by the Carnot Institute ESP (http://www.carnot-esp.fr)

Project: Instrumental and methodological developments in Xenon-129 hyperpolarized NMR: automation, low-temperature, polarization transfers. Application to the characterization of high surface area materials.

Candidate: The candidate must have at least a master’s degree or an engineering degree with bases in chemistry, physics, automatism and / or electronics. Prior experience in NMR is recommended, but not required; an experience in programming (C, Python, Matlab …) and / or automation would be a plus.
We are looking for a motivated candidate who can work in a team. A good knowledge of English is desired.

Location: The position is mainly located at the LCS – Laboratory Catalysis & Spectrochemistry (https://www.lcs.ensicaen.fr) in the engineering school ENSICAEN in Caen and will be done in collaboration with the Institute of Chemical Sciences of Rennes. Stays and work meetings are expected in Rennes.

Apply: the position will be open at the beginning of 2019, but interested candidates are invited to contact for more precise information about the position or the research team: Christian Fernandez, Professor (christian.fernandez@ensicaen.fr ) – https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=TEzlJ7cAAAAJ&hl=en

Regarding the position:
Duration: 18 months full time
Location: Laboratory Catalysis and Spectrochemistry, UMR 6506 CNRS-ENSICAEN-University of Caen, ENSICAEN, 14050 Caen
