Quantitative information as to the number, strength, activity, … of surface sites are mandatory for establishing relevant benchmarks of catalysts or adsorbents, multiscale/micro-kinetic models of processes, or structure-activity relationships.
Despite their prominent position as characterization tools in the fields of adsorption and catalysis, in situ / operando vibrational spectroscopies are too often restricted to qualitative studies.
Gathering leading experts in academia and industry this workshop will focus on the state of the art and challenges of quantitative spectroscopic investigations of surface sites, diffusion processes, adsorbed species and intermediates on complex heterogeneous surfaces such as working, shaped, deactivated catalysts or adsorbants.
